IOP public dock

On September 22, 2020, City Council voted to create a public dock and greenspace in the space formerly leased to the commercial watersports operation. 

On November 2023, City Council awarded a contract to Truluck for the construction of a new public dock, which will include a 16' wide pier with covered area with benches and swings, a new floating dock with an ADA compliant gangway, kayak and stand-up paddle board launch. 

Construction began on April 2024, and the anticipated completion date is June 1, 2024.

  • Dock completed and ribbon cutting was held February 7th.
  • Parking engineer and marina tenants will be invited to future workshop to discuss potential parking layouts for implementation in upcoming winter.

Swings for the public dock have been installed and the contractor is finalizing the electrical system and the barriers. Ribbon cutting scheduled for February 7th at 10:30am.

Technical workshop held in March to identify vulnerabilites and establish agreed upon sea level rise projections. Stakeholder meetings held w the Planning Commission and Enviromental Advisory Committee in May. Sea Level Rise Community Engagement Survey released in July and deadline is August 1.
