Sea Level Rise Adaptation Plan RFP
As the threat of rising sea levels continues to impact coastal communities around the world, it is crucial for the city to develop strategies to mitigate the risks and ensure the long-term sustainability of our community. The Sea Level Rise Adaptation Plan is a proactive and forward-thinking approach to ensure the long-term sustainability and resilience of our community.
The Sea Level Adaptation Plan will help steer policy and funding decisions to address the challenges posed by rising sea levels and protect our community from potential impacts. This plan is being developed through the collection and analysis of data, collaboration with experts, and engagement with local stakeholders.
In addition to coastal protection, the plan will focus on enhancing our community's resilience through sustainable and green infrastructure development, such as rain gardens and permeable pavements, to manage stormwater runoff and reduce the strain on our drainage systems.
To date, the city’s consultant has hosted a series of stakeholder meetings and compiled sea level rise data to help determine the appropriate planning horizon and develop realistic expectations for the amount of rise the community can expect over that horizon.
