IOP Strategic Plan
Milestone timeline:
The City of Isle of Palms is undergoing a Strategic Plan development process.
The City engaged the services of the College of Charleston's Joseph P Riley Center for Livable Communities to help develop the plan. The plan development process has been ongoing since May 26, 2020 and has included multiple meetings with City Staff, City Council, and a public survey conducted online.
The initial presentation from the Joseph P Riley Center for Livable Communities which outlines the goals and process for strategic planning is available here and it was discussed at the May 26, 2020 Council meeting. Strategic planning is a vital process which will help the City not only assess our current situation, and effectively plan for the future.
Project Updates
On January 25, 2022, the Isle of Palms City Council adopted the 2022-2027 Strategic Plan following a months' long process of citizen input, staff meetings and Council workshops.
The City's first Strategic Plan highlights our community's priorities and goals and will serve to align policy initiatives, resources, projects and departmental operations towards the City's vision.
Staff presented the report from the community survey conducted with Isle of Palms stakeholders to measure satisfaction levels and validate City Council's priorities and goals.
City council will hold a Strategic Planning session on February 17, 2021 at the Riley Center for Livable Communities. The purpose of the session is to present the findings of the citizen strategic planning survey, review the priorities of the strategic plan, discuss how the information from the plan report will be disseminated, and talk about next steps.
