Fire Department Exhaust Systems for Fire Stations 1 & 2

Staff preparing Request for Bids (RFB) packet for advertisement in August 2023.


City Hall Renovation

Staff preparing Request for Qualifications (RFQ) packet for assessment and design for advertisement in August 2023.

Outdoor Fitness Court at Recreation Center

$30,000 grant approved through the National Fitness Campaign. Sole source approval by Council required. Installation feasible for Fall 2023.

Dog Park Improvements

Staff securing quotes for fence replacement, evaluating existing play and water features for replacement and upgrades to entrance.


Undergrounding Power Lines

Dominion Energy assigned project at 14th Avenue to Pike Engineering. Pike Engineering reviewing easements and developing utility route for City approval prior to final design.
No significant progress on undergrounding project at the end of 41st Avenue.

Update - February 2025

City Hall Renovation

  • Trident and MPS presented to Public Services & Facilities on 9/10 additional options for City Hall relocation to Public Safety Building and Lot B, and respective cost estimates. Budget implications will be discussed during the FY26 budget process.

Undergrounding Power Lines

  • Public Facilities Committee met with Dominion Energy 2/11/2025 to discuss the feasibility to fund an undergrounding master plan with NSSF.

SCDOT Palm Boulevard Bike, Pedestrian and Parking Enhancements

  • Concepts discussed w Public Safety Committee and City Council. Next steps include seeking public comment on the concepts developed.

21st Avenue Sidewalk Repair & Extension

  • Charleston County approved additional funding for project at their October meeting. All permits are in hand. Bid solicitation planned for January or February, and construction to be completed by May 31st.
