Mayor Pounds: Honorary Commander & VP of Association of SC Mayors
Community partnerships remain key in building strong relationships and promoting growth that benefits those we serve on Isle of Palms.
We're proud to announce that Mayor Phillip Pounds was recently inducted into the Joint Base Charleston Honorary Commander Program. The program was developed to encourage an exchange of ideas, experiences, and friendships between key members of the local civilian community and the Charleston military community.
Mayor Pounds was also elected as the Vice President of the Association of South Carolina Mayors. The association provides opportunities for South Carolina mayors to more fully engage in advocating for issues that affect cities and towns; to network, share ideas and best practices with other mayors, and to take part in educational activities.
