Parking

The Municipal Parking Lots are located on Pavilion Drive and are managed by automated parking kiosks. Parking tickets are available for purchase at the automated parking kiosks inside the parking lot. The fee to park is $1 per hour. The ticket must be prominently displayed on the dash before leaving the parking lot. Failure to do so will result in a $25.00 parking violation. The lots are operational between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.

Residents with properly credentialed vehicles can park in the Municipal Lots anytime free of charge. A properly credentialed vehicle is one that has a City issued Resident Parking Permit or a Wild Dunes Resident decal.

Visitors will also find metered parking on Ocean Boulevard near Front Beach between 10th and 14th Avenues. The hourly rate is $1.50.

Visitors may also park their vehicles on the public right-of-way in the designated "Beach Parking" zones. All vehicles parked in the designated beach parking areas must obey state and local parking regulations posted in those areas.

Golf Carts

In accordance with state law, golf cart owners who have a valid driver's license, a permit from the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles and proof of insurance may operate the golf cart on a secondary highway or street within two miles of his or her residence or place of business during daylight hours only.

Designated Golf Cart parking is available on 9th Ocean Boulevard, 28th and 31st Avenues on Palm Boulevard.

 

Golf Cart Parade Road Closures

 The July 4th golf cart parade will take place Tuesday, July 4, 2023 starting at 10 a.m. on Isle of Palms, SC.  The event will start at Ocean Blvd and 4thAvenue and end at the Isle of Palms Exchange Club located at 201 Palm Boulevard. This event will have an impact on some roads on the island. Look for traffic updates and road closures on our social mediaaccounts, @IsleofPalmsPD.  We ask everyone to be extra cautious when traveling in the area. This is a highly attended event with both participants and spectators. Please be patient and follow the directions of law enforcement personnel.

The following is a list of road closures and times:

9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

- Ocean Blvd from 3rd Ave to 10th Ave
- Charleston Blvd from Palm Blvd to 4th Ave
- Carolina Blvd from 2nd Ave – 10th Ave
- Palm Blvd at 2nd Ave will have officers stationed to assist golf carts crossing over Palm Blvd.

 

Fireworks Show

The Isle of Palms fireworks show takes place in the Front Beach area. The area of the beach between 21st Avenue to 3rd Sea Cabins will close at 6:30 p.m. for the set up and preparation of the Fireworks Display sponsored by the City.

Please be prepared to take your family and belongings off the beach at 6:30 p.m. You may remain inside the park area, or behind the restroom facilities to watch the show.

Leave the fireworks to the professionals. Fireworks are not permitted in the City of Isle of Palms.

Beach Safety

Alcohol and the Ocean NEVER mix! Alcohol is not permitted on the beach.

Dogs must be on a leash and owners must clean up after their pets.

Please use the garbage and recycling containers to keep the beach clean.

Please protect our dunes, use the paths.

Holes dug in the sand should be filled back in for safety.
