Public Notice from IOPWSC - Temporary Shutoff of Irrigation Systems
May 17, 2022 - City of Isle of Palms, SC
Public Notice from the Isle of Palms Water and Sewer Commission:
Due to a leak on the water transmission line under the harbor from Charleston Water Systems, the Isle of Palms Water and Sewer Commission is asking that all customers cease watering their lawns and gardens until further notice. If you have an irrigation meter, the Isle of Palms Water and Sewer Commission has already turned it off. Once repairs are complete, the Commission will turn the irrigation meters back on normal working hours. Those owners that have irrigation systems connected to their house meter are asked to turn off their systems at the irrigation clock.
Charleston Water Systems is currently working on repairing the line and anticipates completion of the repairs by Friday, May 20, 2022. During this time, the Commission is blending raw well water to its reverse osmosis treated water to increase storage capacity. Due to this mix, the water may have a different taste and it may be harder to wash off soap.
Please be patient with us as we strive to maintain our quality of service to you. If you have questions or concerns, please contact the IOP Water and Sewer Commission at 843-886-6148.
