| Description: | The SDHEC-Office of Ocean and Coastal Resource Management has scheduled a public hearing on application P/N# 2010-1041-21G, City of Isle of Palms, to increase the number of sand scraping events from two to four over the life of the permit and to change the expiration date of the SC DHEC OCRM permit to coincide with the Department of the Army permit, which is March 31, 2017. The permitee would still be limited to the total volume of sand that can be scraped and transferred over the life of the permit which is a maximum of 500,000 cubic yards and would also be limited to the allowable volume of sand scraping during any one event, which is 250,00 cubic yards. The project is located on and adjacent to the Atlantic Ocean at a location limited to the area between 53rd Avenue and an existing groin near the 17th tee of the Links Course, on the northeastern end of the Isle of Palms, Charleston County, South Carolina. All interested persons are urged to attend and voice their comments on the project on public notice.
